Silks on the Downs, formerly the Wheatsheaf Inn, is a village pub / gastropub with rooms. A freehouse, run passionately by Chef/Proprietor, Kevin Cole.

We are located in Ogbourne St Andrew, one mile outside the beautiful market town of Marlborough and within 15 minutes of Barbary Castle Estate, historic Avebury and the glorious Marlborough Downs. Adorning our walls, and adding extra interest, are framed silks of leading racehorse owners as worn by the jockeys, reflecting Wiltshire's rich racing heritage, as well as giving the pub its name.

We provide an informal dining experience in comfortable surroundings with a service that is relaxed and unobtrusive, but nevertheless professional. Whether you are enjoying a three course meal with a fine glass of wine or a plate of sausage & mash, or simply a pint, we hope you enjoy our hospitality and more importantly we hope that you come back for more! The restaurant is divided into two main dining areas. One area, is completely self contained and ideal for private dining for parties of up to 18. We have two outdoor dining areas : a small decking area and a garden with views overlooking fields and leading to a small stream. We also have our own private car park.
